Nyrah Wright

I just finished up texting Jason and I enjoyed our conversation. He was funny as hell and I love a man that could make me laugh. It actually took me about an hour before I found the courage to text him and I’m glad I did. I sat on my bed thinking about everything we talked about. We had so much in common. I was surprised to find out he didn’t have any kids.

I got up from my bed and walked down the hall to check on my son. I peeked my head in his door and he had fallen off to sleep. I walked downstairs and my nephew Jamek was still up watching TV. I looked at the clock on the wall and it read 10pm.

“Ja, it’s time for bed little boy.” I told him. This fool looked up at me and rolled his eyes. At thirteen, my nephew was a handful. I gained full custody of him when my sister and her husband was killed in a car accident two years ago. My mother wasn’t fit to take him because of her drug problem and she was always in and out of jail.

There were many times that I wanted to send him to Texas to live with his grandmother, his father’s mother, but he was my blood and my sister would have wanted him with me. I was trying to my best to keep my hands off of him because I knew him losing both parents was hard on him. He was a good child but he had his moments. Like tonight.

“Ja, I know you heard me. It’s time for bed little boy” He got up and stomped his feet all the way to his room. “Boy if you wake up Nyron with all that noise we going to have problems,” I yelled up the stairs. Next thing I heard was him slamming his door. I shook my head as I walked into the kitchen so I could start cleaning up the mess Jamek and Nyron left from dinner. Before I got started, someone was knocking on my door. I already knew who it was at my door. I opened the door and Baron walked in like he was paying rent up in here. Well he was but he could have waited for me to invite his ass in.

“What’s up baby mama? Where my son at?”

“Really B, where you think he’s at,” I spat. “Why are you over here this late?”

“Looking for some good loving.” He smiled.

“Whatever boy. You know you came to the wrong place for that.” I walked back to kitchen and he sat down on the couch. I could hear my phone going off but I didn’t bother to get it. But this nigga came walking in the kitchen with my phone in his hand.

“Yo, sexy Green said good night,” he said reading my message. “Damn baby mama you got another boy toy? I hope this one not married.” He laughed.

“Shut up Baron and give me my phone, boy.
